Class Levels
Level 1- Gentle Yoga class
These classes are designed for those new to yoga, recovering from injury, or simply seeking a gentle practice to build strength and flexibility. Key elements include standing poses, basic sun salutations, and modifications. If you are new to yoga, you may inquire about private sessions or beginner series.
Restorative/Yin Yoga Class
Deeply relaxing, slow paced designed to calm the nervous system and rejuvenate the body by holding passive, supportive poses. Utilizing props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks, this practice encourages profound physical and mental release, reducing stress, improving sleep, and relieving chronic muscle tension.
Level 1-2
If you have attended Level 1 classes and are ready for a more advanced beginning class. The basic postures are presented in more challenging ways with a focus on the fundamentals of yoga.
Hatha Level 1-2 Class
These classes blend foundational, longer-held poses with gentle flows, incorporating breathwork (pranayama) and meditation to build strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. The pace is low-to-moderate, with longer holds to build endurance and strength rather than rapid, continuous flow.
Level 2
Designed to take you to the intermediate level. More advanced postures and sequences are introduced requiring a bit more strength, stamina, and flexibility.
Vinyasa Flow
A dynamic, flowing style (vinyasa) that connects one breath to one movement. The intensity is moderate to high depending on the instructor. It is designed to make you sweat and build internal heat.

At Shanti Om Yoga you will find several different yoga styles and levels. This way you can select a class that suits you. Class intensity and challenge vary according to the teacher. Feel open to ask for guidance at the front desk when selecting a class. When choosing a class, be mindful of the level that is listed beside the style.
